Dynamic and professional, they accompany our patients and their family during their rehabilitation process at our hospital.<\/p>\n<h2>The Program<\/h2>\n<p>The Occupational Therapist plans and supervises activities for patients with a permanent or temporary physical or mental disability, in order to:<\/p>\n<ul class='list-reset-disc'>\n<li>improve their functioning in daily life<\/li>\n<li>facilitate their integration into the community<\/li>\n<li>develop their abilities to the fullest, taking into account their limitations<\/li>\n<li>help with cognitive functions that regulate concentration, memory and problem-solving<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To do so, the Occupational Therapist:<\/p>\n<ul class='list-reset-disc'>\n<li>analyzes the patient\u2019s physical and mental condition<\/li>\n<li>evaluates their potential, interests and limitations<\/li>\n<li>establishes rehabilitation goals<\/li>\n<li>has the patient participate in activities that improve functional abilities and skills (manual labour, household chores, artistic expression, physical activity and sports, educational and recreational games, etc.)<\/li>\n<li>suggests ways to more easily carry out daily activities<\/li>\n<li>identifies appropriate services, technical aids and room layouts that will allow the patient to return home<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Occupational Therapy program also offers patients services that specialize in the assessment and training of <a title=\"Driver Rehabilitation Program\" href=\"\/en?page_id=1248\">driving skills.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Occupational Therapy The Occupational Therapy team at Villa Medica consists of 20 occupational therapists and rehabilitation assistants.
