Stay informed – Holiday season information as of December 17, 2020

We are just days away from a very special holiday season for you and your family. You’ve heard the public health guidelines, but you may be wondering which ones apply to Villa Medica. Visits to the HRVM are permitted for caregivers. A caregiver is a person involved in the rehabilitation of the client and who actively participates in his intervention plan at the physical or psychological level.

Family members express their interest in becoming caregivers and then are accompanied by team members to achieve this. They first receive training in terms of infection prevention measures and then in the interventions to be made with their loved one.

The process takes a few days and may be delayed when admitting on a weekend or on a holiday. However, we try to do it as quickly as possible so that your loved one does not feel your absence too much.

As we are in the red zone, clients have the right to a caregiver only and visits are only to the room. When the rooms are for two or four users, we must coordinate the appointments so that only one caregiver at a time is present in the room.

We also want to mention that we can facilitate meetings between several family members using virtual dates. We’re leveraging technology to provide some virtual gatherings and real-life moments of happiness for customers. To make these virtual appointments, click here.

If you would like to bring a Christmas gift to your loved one, we will be happy to deliver it on your behalf. Please note that gifts and items you bring will be delivered 48 hours later. You have to consider this delay in your planning.

For our part, in addition to the rehabilitation periods, we are offering special activities in the next two weeks while respecting infection prevention measures. You can consult the calendar of activities by clicking here .

In addition, traditional meals are planned for December 25 and January 1. Thank you to the food service staff for concocting these dishes that we appreciate and which allow us to keep a little tradition alive, despite everything.

If you have questions regarding the role of caregiver, consult our frequently asked questions, you will have answers to the questions most frequently raised by our family who are wondering about the possibility of becoming a caregiver. To become a caregiver, call 514 288-8201 ext. 4633.
